My name is Michele Roberts and I became inspired to create beautiful beach wedding jewelry after my own Hawaiian wedding. As soon as I returned from my honeymoon a few years ago I started Jewels By Michele (www.jewelsbymichele.com). "Jewels" has been wonderful to me and blossomed beyond my wildest dreams, but recently in 2006 I decided I wanted to offer more!

If you take a look at "Jewels", you'll see a lot of the same designs as this site, but each offers a little less. For instance, the Outer Banks barefoot sandals here are just like the floating pearl sandals on Jewels, but triple the pearls for an unbelievable look! Our signature sandals, available in both pearls and crystals, add something extra with a double wrap.

One of the first things I did was to scour the globe for appropriate pendants for beach weddings. You'll find everything from Swarovski crystal pendants, such as starfish and seashells, to sterling silver and 10K gold pendants in various sea creatures to beautiful Mother of Pearl pendants and even a few natural ones! Of course we offer all of our jewelry without pendants too.

I had become aware of Sea Glass while developing a new line for Jewels, and I knew I wanted a classy product for Beach Bride Jewelry too. The result is our Caribbean Sea jewelry and Sanibel Island / Sanibel Cove Jewelry, which use not only authentic sea glass, but authentic gemstones and/or seashells too. We chose the gemstones for their "sea-like" colors, but we also researched the meanings of the stones, and all lend inspiration to the bride.

One of things I'm most excited about (okay, I love everything here, but I'm really excited about!) is the men's jewelry. I started getting lots of requests, and "regular" men's jewelry has been done to death, and frankly I try very hard to set myself apart. Lava! Can you believe they make lava into jewelry components and beads? I was just beside myself. Of course not just any old lava would do, so I scoured every site looking for lava. I happened upon quite a few I had never seen, and while browsing I found another brilliant idea - fossil coral! Fossil coral is ancient coral that has gradually turned into the gemstone agate. The fossilized coral appears as small "starbursts" on the stone. So, there you go - a dark sandal / jewelry for the men in the form of lava that we've named Sumatra and a light sandal / jewelry in the form of fossil coral that we've named Barbuda.

New this season ('07) is our crystal and pearl flip flops. You can find lots of crystal flip flops, but all of them seem to be the exact same style - a pair of Havaianas with flowers or a pave pattern. So, like everything else here, I designed something completely unique. The results are really cool and stunning, in my humble opinion. Check them out on our crystal flip flop page.

Of course we have jewelry using the staples too - freshwater rice pearls, freshwater coin pearls, Swarovski crystals and Swarovski pearls.

The great thing about our jewelry is that it's great for after your wedding. Barefoot Sandals can be worn on future vacations, and all of our other jewelry is great anytime. What a great thing to give beach bridesmaids and flower girls. We also gift bag everything that we ship. Our bags are simple white satin, but absolutely perfect to allow the jewelry to speak for itself!
